The Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås  will open its premises and labs in Borås for the Swedish Textile Machine Fair (STM) 0n the 13th and 14th October, a meeting place for sustainable textile production. Also, in connection with the fair, a TEKO day has also been arranged with a focus on sustainable production and innovation.

“We felt that there was a lack of a meeting place for the textile industry in Sweden and therefore created the Swedish Textile Machinery Fair where the textile industry can meet and learn from each other. For us, it is important to have a close collaboration with business and make sure that our students and researchers have access to the best that is on the market,” says Anneli Bentzlin, head of the textile labs at the Swedish School of Textiles.

The university hopes to attract machine manufacturers, textile producers, students and other interested parties to network for two days, where sustainability issues will take centre stage.

Exhibitors at the fair include both Swedish manufacturers and representatives of international machinery and equipment brands. Several of the machines displayed at the fair are in the university's lab, which is an important part of the university and its operations.
